Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro designs revealed through new dummies with Action Button and Capture Button shown
Apple is likely about five months away from announcing the iPhone 16 series. Nonetheless, leakers already seem in agreement about the smartphones that Apple will market with iPhone 16 branding. For now, anyway, it appears that Apple will release the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max as direct successors to the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
To that end, Sonny Dickson has now shared photos of aluminium dummy models for all four iPhone 16 models. Embedded below, third-party companies typically use the dummies to test accessories in time for the next iPhone launch without waiting until retail units ship. While the origins of these dummies remain to be seen, the designs shown match earlier leaks and rumours. As such, all models contain Apple's Action Button, which is currently restricted to 'Pro' models in the iPhone 15 series.
Additionally, the four devices sport a new Capture Button, which is rumoured to be pressure sensitive and Apple's first 'taptic' solid state button. Reportedly, the Capture Button will also be capable of providing various camera features like zooming thanks to its support for gesture controls. Meanwhile, it seems that Apple will return to its first vertical dual-camera arrangement since the iPhone 12, albeit only on non-Pro models. Furthermore, non-Pro models are said to be slightly smaller than their Pro counterparts, with this year's Pro and Pro Max iPhones growing by 0.2-inches to 6.3-inches and 6.9-inches diagonally across, respectively.
