As reported earlier this week, EA has re-released the first two iterations of its life sim games, The Sims and The Sims 2. Both games have been released to mark the 25th anniversary of the franchise, and are now available to purchase for PC (Windows 10 and Windows 11).
EA is launching the two games as The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection for $19.99 and $29.99 respectively. They are also available to buy together as a bundle for $39.99, saving buyers $10. The bundle not only includes the base games but also expansion packs (7 for The Sims 1 and 17 for The Sims 2) as well as The Sims 4 (originally free to download) and two The Sims 4 fashion kits.
The two games are available to buy now via the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam. For those with an EA Play Pro membership on the EA App, they get unlimited access to both The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection starting January 31st.
The minimum PC requirements for the Sims games are a PC running Windows 10 or later; an Intel Core i3-3220, Ryzen 3 1200, or AMD FX6300; Nvidia GTX 600, AMD Radeon HD 7000, or Intel HD Graphics 620; 4GB RAM, and 16GB of storage.
EA has also announced that it is re-releasing MySims on the Nintendo Switch, and the new release comes with the MySims: Cozy Bundle. The MySims: Cozy Bundle will be available on PC on March 18, 2025 but can be pre-ordered now on the EA app, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
