It’s time to say goodbye to MultiVersus. The crossover platform fighter, known for bringing together characters from Warner Bros. properties, will officially go offline after the conclusion of its fifth and final season.

Player First Games has announced that Season 5 will be the final content update for MultiVersus. The season kicks off on February 4, 2025, at 9 a.m. PST and runs until May 30, 2025. After May 30, MultiVersus will no longer be available for download from digital storefronts, and the game will transition to offline-only play.

As of January 31, real-money transactions have been disabled, so players can no longer purchase Gleamium—the in-game currency. However, any remaining Gleamium and character tokens can be used to unlock in-game content until the end of Season 5.

Season 5 brings two new playable characters—DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny. Players can unlock Aquaman through the Battle Pass at the first tier, while Lola Bunny will be available as a daily calendar login reward. All new content will be fully earnable through gameplay.

For players interested in continuing to play MultiVersus after the shuttering of the online servers, there is a silver lining. Player First Games is offering the opportunity to access offline local play (single player against A.I. or with up to three friends). In order to do so, players must download the latest version of the game and log in at least once during Season 5. Doing so will create a local save file tied to their PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Epic Games Store account, preserving all earned and purchased content for offline use.

The team at Player First Games expressed gratitude to the community, saying they are “forever grateful” for the support they received throughout the game’s journey.
