The Epic Games Store has kicked a surprise free game giveaway. Arriving in addition to the title it began offering for free yesterday on Windows, the new giveaway is the first of many free games that will be available via its mobile store.

Three months have passed from when the Epic Games Store announced that it would be bringing its free games program to its mobile store. Since then, the storefront has given away countless titles on macOS and Windows with new sight of any corresponding mobile offers.

Incidentally, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery can be picked up for free until January 30 on macOS and Windows but not the PS4 or Nintendo Switch (curr. $279.99 on Amazon), after which it will switch to a new game that has already been revealed. Out of nowhere, the company has now introduced its first mobile free game giveaway, Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, on Android or iOS.

Please note that there are some hoops that one must jump through to obtain Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee for free, which typically retails for $7.99. With the storefront not being listed on the Google Play Store, the only way to install it is by sideloading via Epic Games' website.

There are more steps to installing the storefront on iOS and iPadOS though, which Epic Games has detailed on a dedicated support page. iOS and iPadOS is limited to the European Union, for the time being too. Alternatively, one can redeem Android and iOS versions of Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee directly via this link. Epic Games' first mobile giveaway will last until February 20.
