On January 23, a remake of a popular action-adventure game, renowned for its intense and challenging combat, was released without prior notice. The game is now featured in the Xbox Game Pass and available on Steam, where it has quickly claimed the top spot on the charts.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is the second entry in Team Ninja's iconic Ninja Gaiden series, originally launched in 2008 for the Xbox 360. This action-adventure game follows the journey of Ryu Hayabusa, a skilled ninja wielding the legendary Dragon Sword, as he battles supernatural foes to protect his clan's honor.

The Game stands out for its lightning-fast combos and stylish combat, drawing comparisons to Devil May Cry. Its high difficulty and strategic depth also evoke similarities to Dark Souls. This remastered version of the beloved action-adventure game introduces modern Unreal Engine 5 graphics alongside several gameplay enhancements. These include a beginner-friendly Hero Play Style and adjustable gore settings, allowing players to customize the level of violence. Additionally, a revamped control system promises more precise combos and a more dynamic combat experience. Fans can also enjoy three new playable characters: Ayane, Momiji and Rachel.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is now part of the Xbox Game Pass. For those without a subscription, the game can be purchased on Steam for approximately $50. Steam reviews are currently mixed, with 77% positive feedback from around 330 users. Common criticisms include technical issues and gameplay changes that haven't resonated with all players. Despite this, the game has secured the top spot in Steam's "New and Trending" category.
