Anker has launched a new, longer 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C Cable. The original accessory, the first of its kind from this company, was released in countries globally last June. Anker indicated that it was convenient for travellers and could help keep your desk tidy.
Now, a second version has been spotted at Amazon in Germany. The earlier Anker 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C Cable was 4 ft or 120 cm long and offered in two colors: black and white. The latest version is 180 cm (~6 ft) long and is available in the same two colorways. The additional length is in the base cable, extended from 90 cm (~3 ft) to 150 cm (~5 ft). The two upper sections still measure up to 30 cm (~1 ft), with the length adjustable via a cable slider.
Aside from the length, the two versions of the 2-in-1 nylon braided cable appear identical. They offer a maximum 140W power output when charging a single device, which Anker estimates could charge a MacBook Pro 16 (M3 Pro) to 50% in 20 minutes. When you are charging two devices simultaneously, the maximum power is capped at 130W, with the split dependent on the connected devices (see table below). Plus, the cable is said to withstand up to 10,000 bends.
The new Anker 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C Cable (180 cm, 140W, Braided) is available at Amazon Germany for €21.99, making it €2 more expensive than the original 120 cm version. It is unclear when this longer variant could launch in other markets like the US and the UK, where the earlier accessory is sold.
