Nomad launches new dual output cable with high price tag

Nomad has launched a new Universal Cable for Apple Watch. This is a 1.5 m (~4.9 ft) long cable with a Kevlar 29 braided outer, which the brand suggests makes it particularly strong and cut-resistant. At either end is an electroplated metal USB-C connector designed to fit devices in cases. 

What makes this accessory more unusual is the built-in Apple Watch charging puck at one end, supporting fast charging of an Apple Watch or AirPods. However, this addition makes the accessory quite a bit more expensive than the standard Nomad USB-C Cable (240W, 1.5). The Apple Watch model retails for $100/£100/€100, whereas the regular variant is $25 at the Nomad online store or $30 at Amazon.

Along with the wireless charging pad, the cable has a 100W PD fast charging USB-C output for a second device. It is worth noting that this USB-C output is capped at 92W when you charge two gadgets simultaneously, and you need to use it with an adapter with at least 20W.  While the cable is listed with USB 2.0 data transfer speeds, Nomad notes that this is due to the cable length and emphasizes that the product is designed for charging rather than file transfers. There is also an integrated cable tie to make it easier to store or transport the cable. Alongside the Universal Cable for Apple Watch and USB-C Cable is a third Universal Cable with built-in Micro USB and USB-A adapters.
