Apple's official MagSafe Wallet (from $59 on Amazon) can only display its last known location in the Find My app, which is the spot where the wallet was last disconnected from the iPhone. The new Nomad Leather Mag Wallet takes it a step further by integrating a battery and a Bluetooth chip, which allow it to be located around the world, just like an Apple AirTag.
Its location is shown in the Find My app whenever any iPhone comes within the wallet's Bluetooth range, as Nomad advertises a range of up to 147 ft. Since the wallet lacks UWB and also doesn't have a speaker, the Find My integration isn’t too helpful for locating the wallet inside your own home.
The battery can be recharged with any Qi or MagSafe charger, and a single charge should last up to five months. The battery’s state of charge is displayed in Apple's Find My app. Furthermore, the Nomad Leather Mag Wallet is 0.35 inches thick and weighs 1.7 oz. It also holds up to four cards, similar to Apple's MagSafe Wallet, but there’s no dedicated compartment for cash. The genuine leather is designed to develop a patina over time. Nomad asserts that the magnets will not negatively affect the magnetic stripes of credit cards.
