The fourth generation of the Nomad Stand One has arrived and combines the familiar design with a Qi2 charging coil. The charger can hold a smartphone magnetically and charge wirelessly with up to 25 watts. It’s compatible with the Apple iPhone 17 and other iPhones and Android smartphones that support the Qi2 standard with up to 25 watts.
The Nomad Stand One includes a second Qi charging pad that’s limited to 5 watts and suitable for charging wireless earbuds such as Apple AirPods Pro. The larger Nomad Stand One Max adds a charging puck for the Apple Watch, which supports fast charging for current models but remains compatible with all older Apple Watches.
The Nomad Stand One sports a high-quality build mostly made of aluminum and glass. A 40-watt USB-C power adapter is required and not included. The charging pad is coated with TPU that should prevent smartphones from being scratched. The Stand One weighs 20 oz, while the Stand One Max comes in at 31 oz. Therefore, the charger is heavy enough so that a smartphone can be lifted from the charging station with one hand, holding down the base is not necessary.
