The Xiaomi 17 Ultra may still be over a month away from receiving an official release. Based on recent leaks, Xiaomi is developing its next Ultra-branded flagship under the model numbers 2512BPNDAC, 2512BPNDAG and 2512BPNDAI, which should represent Chinese, global and Indian variants, respectively. Considering Xiaomi's past model numbers, '2512BPNDA' could indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will arrive in December 2025.
In the meantime, Digital Chat Station claims to have received more information about the forthcoming device's camera hardware. Writing on Weibo, the leaker reports that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be the only flagship sporting a 1-inch type primary camera, possibly the OmniVision OVX10500U. By contrast, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to maintain the 1/1.3-inch primary camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,025 on Amazon).
Apparently, Xiaomi will complement this new sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and a 23 mm equivalent focal length, matching the primary camera in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Likewise, Digital Chat Station expects Xiaomi to install a 14 mm ultra-wide-angle camera, which was previously rumoured to be the 50 MP ISOCELL JN5 produced by Samsung. On top of that, the leaker mentions 70-100 mm telephoto optics. While the wording suggests variable optical zoom, a recent HyperOS leak indicates that these focal lengths will be achieved by Samsung's ISOCELL JN5 (S5KJN5) and ISOCELL HPE (S5KHPE) sensors outputting at 50 MP and 200 MP, respectively.
