DJI has now released the Osmo Mobile 8 globally (curr. $149 on Amazon) as its first of three rumoured product launches this month. Based on the company's recent teasers, the Osmo Action 6 is last up this month as a successor both the Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Action 5 Pro. Officially, the company has only hinted as much with its 'Square Up, Nail the Move' teaser.
However, leaks have been surfacing online about the Osmo Action 6 for months at this point. Now, The New Camera has obtained a photo comparing the casing of DJI's next action camera with the Osmo Action 5 Pro. Not only that, but XdronesStudio has shared an alleged photo showcasing a retail unit and DJI's final packaging. Embedded below, the Osmo Action 6 appears to be about the same size as the outgoing Osmo Action 5 Pro.
The camera housing of this year's model has grown significantly though, perhaps to highlight the uprgade from a 1/1.3-inch to a 1/1.1-inch sensor. Now dominating most of the front side, the Osmo Action 6's camera lens protects its new f/2.0-f/4.0 variable aperture that already features in DJI's marketing. Currently, the Osmo Action 6 is expected to launch for around £329 in the UK, €379 in the Eurozone and perhaps $379 in the US.
