Asanuma & Co., Ltd. has unveiled the petite 8 MP King keychain camera (KLIKKA-BK) in Japan designed for convenient EDC (everyday carry). The camera measures 45 x 28 x 20 mm (1.77 x 1.10 x 0.79 in.) and weighs 16 g (0.56 oz.).
The King camera utilizes a 0.96-inch LCD display to view the 3,760 x 2,121-pixel JPG photos and 1,080p 30 fps AVI videos it records. A built-in flash helps light up low-light scenes when taking photos. The keychain camera stores videos and photos on a microSD card, with up to 32 GB cards supported.
The camera is designed to produce a nostalgic look, with a lower level of detail than modern smartphones, akin to digital cameras from decades past, according to Asanuma.
A 180 mAh lithium polymer battery powers the camera for up to 100 minutes, according to the company. The battery recharges using an external USB-C power supply. The keychain camera comes with a strap, keychain, USB cable, and instruction manual.
Readers can buy the 8 MP King keychain camera in black, white, and pink for an MSRP of 3,300 yen (~$25) from the company website. Readers outside Japan can consider a similar 8 MP keychain camera sold on Amazon US.
