Kenko Tokina has released seven new variants of its Pieni II toy digital camera featuring cute Sanrio characters in Japan.
The Pieni II cameras use a 1/10-inch, 1.31 MP CMOS sensor with an ISO sensitivity of 100. The sensor is coupled with a 3.2 mm f/2.8 lens with a fixed shutter speed of 1/100th second. The lens has a fixed focusing range of 0.3 m to ∞ (0.98 ft to ∞).
The camera outputs JPG photos at a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels and AVI MJPEG videos with MP3 audio at a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels at 30 fps to a microSD card (128 MB to 2 GB). An optical viewfinder can be used to frame shots, but images can only be viewed when offloaded to a computer.
The rechargeable camera comes with a mini USB cable and a neck strap. A built-in magnet on the back of the camera allows it to be conveniently stored on a refrigerator.
The 18 gram (0.63 oz.) toy camera measures 51 × 36 × 18 mm (2.0 × 1.4 × 0.7 in.).
The Kenko Tokina Sanrio-branded Pieni II digital cameras have an MSRP of 7,920 yen (~$50) and are available from the company's online store in Japan with international shipping.
