DJI has numerous products in the pipeline whose relays appear to be delayed for one reason or another. For instance, the successor to the Osmo Pocket 3 was originally rumoured for December before taking somewhat of a backseat to the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro. Also, the Avata 360 has been waiting in the wings as DJI's alternative to the Antigravity A1.
Now, YouTuber Photorabz has learned of new information about DJI's Osmo Action division. To recap, DJI released the Osmo Action 6 towards the end of last year after months of leaks and speculation (curr. $369 on Amazon). According to Photorabz, the company is now preparing to launch an Osmo Action 6 Pro later this year.
Currently, there are plenty of ways in which DJI could distinguish a new action camera from its existing product stack. For example, the Osmo Action 6 leverages the same 1,950 mAh (7.5 Wh/3.87 V) battery as the Osmo Action 5 Pro, with around 52-53 minutes of official battery life per device. Moreover, DJI's stabilisation software remains unchanged from as far back as the Osmo Action 4.
At this stage, no other concrete details are known about this unreleased action camera. Typically, DJI has introduced new Osmo Action cameras in late summer, as was the case with the Osmo Action 3, Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Action 5 Pro. Last year, DJI released the Osmo Action 6 in November, returning to an autumn launch schedule that we last saw with the Action 2.
