DJI is just over a week away from introducing the Osmo Action 6 with various advancements over both the Osmo Action 4 and the newer Osmo Action 5 Pro. While the Osmo Action 6 is due to launch next week, Insta360 appears poised to expand the functionality of its Ace Pro 2 equivalent. Following the Arctic White Edition refresh in September, the company is teasing what appears to be a hardware addition this time around, despite introducing the original Ace Pro 2 over a year ago (curr. $415 on Amazon).
Specifically, it seems that Insta360 has developed a Polaroid-inspired instant printer grip, which it has set up for a November 12 launch. Given the company's past refreshes, this new grip will likely launch as part of new Ace Pro 2 bundles rather than as a dedicated release. In the meantime, leaked visuals and teasers provide a few hints about what Insta360 has in store for Wednesday.
So far, it looks like the company has mounted the Ace Pro 2 within a modular grip designed to resemble a compact camera or equivalent. As the video below shows, the grip also contains a knurled control dial for exposure or mode adjustments, as well as a dedicated shutter button and a rocker switch to handle focus and zoom levels. Moreover, the grip included a built-in instant printer too, which will likely form a major part of Insta360's marketing. Unfortunately, pricing remains unknown for now, as do the whereabouts of a true next-generation model.
