There has been no shortage of leaks about the upcoming DJI Osmo Action 6. The latest is from popular tipster Quadro_News on X, offering more details on the camera’s hardware specifications.
According to Quadro_News, the Osmo Action 6 will have a 1/1.1-inch 38 MP CMOS sensor and a variable-aperture lens ranging from f/2.0 to f/4.0. The model will support video capture at up to 4K 120 fps or 1080p 240 fps.
DJI has been promoting the new camera with the tagline “Square UP, Nail the Move,” suggesting it will replace the Osmo Action 4 and Action Pro 5. In addition, a previous leak hinted at a variable-aperture lens and a camera housing large enough to accommodate the new 1/1.1-inch sensor.
The latest report apparently builds on the previous ones, while fleshing out the details. Quadro_News claims the shooter will feature RockSteady 3.0+ and HorizonSteady stabilization. It will be rated 20-meter water-resistant without any protective case on, with its chassis weighing 149 g. These specs suggest the Osmo Action 6 is shaping up to be one of DJI’s most durable and versatile cameras.
Accessory kits may see changes
DJI might be leaving out protective case in the base kit. The Osmo Action 6 is expected to come in Standard and Adventure Combo versions.
There is no pricing information yet. However, based on past numbers, the new action camera could retail for about $379.
