A few days have now passed since X account Hakasushi shared cryptic details about a forthcoming DJI release. As we discussed at the time, we suspected that the release was related to the Osmo Pocket 4. For context, DJI has locked in two major consumer launches for this month.
On the one hand, it is a day away from replacing the Neo with the Neo 2. Incidentally, all hardware details about the Neo 2 are already known by virtue of the drone debuting on October 30 in China.
On the other hand, the Osmo Action 6 is due to arrive on November 18 to replace DJI's recent action cameras like the Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $339 on Amazon). According to YouTuber Photorabz, the Osmo Pocket 4 will become official exactly a month later. Specifically, Photorabz claims to have received information from a reliable source that DJI intends to launch the Osmo Pocket 4 on December 18.
Apparently, the timing of this release would allow DJI to offer its next vlogging camera in the US before an impending FCC ban on December 23. Photorabz adds that the Osmo Pocket 4 could in fact feature a 1-inch type sensor, although previous rumours have indicated that a 1/1.3-inch alternative is in store instead. If the former is accurate, then we suspect that DJI may reuse the camera sensor from the Osmo Action 6 inside its next Osmo Pocket releas
