Last month, Nubia introduced the Z80 Ultra flagship camera smartphone to the Chinese market. Now, the brand has launched its latest affordable smartphone, the V80 Design, in the global market. Nubia packs a decent set of features into the budget-focused smartphone. Dimensionally, the device measures 166 x 79 x 7.7 mm (6.53 x 3.11 x 0.3 inches) and weighs around 191 grams (0.42 lbs).
Speaking of the processor, the V80 Design is powered by a 12 nm-based Unisoc T7280 chipset paired with 2 x Cortex-A75 at 2.2 GHz and 6 x A55 at 1.8 GHz cores and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. It packs up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. For photography, you get a triple rear camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50 MP primary camera and two unknown sensors just to fill the gap. Upfront, there’s a 16 MP shooter for capturing selfies and video chats.
The entry-level smartphone sports a 6.75-inch LCD display that outputs at 1940 x 900p resolution with a 317 ppi pixel density, a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. As for battery, a 5,000 mAh battery powers the entire unit and supports 22.5 W wired charging (Ugreen 30 W USB-C charger curr. at $9.99 on Amazon). Despite being an affordable smartphone, it supports 10 W reverse charging.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, NFC, Android 16 OS, an IP64 waterproof rating, and AI features such as real-time translation, scam detection, AI writing, smart replies, AI image editing, AI wallpaper generation, and more. Plus, users can access all the AI features directly via the AI button.
Buyers can choose from midnight black, pale amber, celadon cyan, and peach fuzz colorways. As for price, the Nubia V80 Design starts at MYR 570 (~$140) for the base 8 GB + 256 GB variant. The device is now available for purchase directly via ZTE’s official website.
