Xiaomi is now well underway with its HyperOS 3 rollout both globally and in China. To recap, the company undertakes different software release schedules in China than in other markets. For instance, the Poco X7 Pro recently joined the Poco F7 (curr. $519.99 on Amazon) by receiving HyperOS 3 globally but not in China.
Now, XiaomiTime reports that Xiaomi has already begun HyperOS 3.1 beta program recruitment for devices registered in its home market. Apparently, one of the main innovations that will distinguish HyperOS 3.1 from HyperOS 3 is an updated recent apps drawer. Drawing inspiration from Apple just as Hyper Island does from the Dynamic Island, the new recents drawer will be joined via refined memory management to improve animations and reduce app startup times.
Allegedly, only devices that have received the Android 16 version of HyperOS 3 are in line for HyperOS 3.1. By contrast, those running HyperOS 3 based on Android 15 will miss out on HyperOS 3.1 altogether. According to XiaomiTime, the list of devices that will remain on HyperOS 3 once Xiaomi finishes issuing stable HyperOS 3.1 builds exceeds 20 and includes older models like the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The full list of devices reportedly ineligible to receive HyperOS 3.1 are as follows:
