Nine years after the Karma Grip stabilizer, GoPro is finally back with a new model. Launching October 21, the new Fluid Pro AI adds AI-powered tracking to take on rivals like the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P, Insta360 Flow Pro, and Hohem iSteady V3 Ultra.
GoPro has announced the upcoming 3-axis gimbal alongside the new Lit Hero and Max 2 action cameras and confirmed it will include interchangeable mounts that work with its action cams, compact point-and-shoot cameras, and smartphones. By contrast, the old Karma Grip only supported GoPro’s action cams, making the new model a welcome option for smartphone creators too.
Speaking of which, the gimbal is said to have a maximum payload capacity of 400 grams, which means it should work with most flagship smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (218 grams) and the new iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams).
The biggest highlight for the Fluid Pro AI is its intelligent subject tracking. According to GoPro, it can lock onto a person’s face or body and automatically keep them in frame as they move around, a feature that should come in handy for solo creators. It also includes an integrated fill light and a built-in display for quick access to camera controls.
The catch is the price. At $229.99, the Fluid Pro AI comes in higher than competing AI gimbals like the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P (curr: $149.99 at Best Buy), Insta360 Flow Pro (curr: $129 at Amazon), or Hohem iSteady V3 Ultra (curr: $169 at Amazon). On the flip side, GoPro’s gimbal offers the longest battery life at up to 18 hours, and it can even double as a power bank.
The GoPro Fluid Pro AI will be available starting October 21.
