Anker's Nebula sub-brand has announced a new high-end projector that provides a cinema-grade experience outdoors. The new projector is packed with features such as liquid cooling, optical zoom, a micro-gimbal, and the ability to automatically detect the room or space it's placed in and adjust its settings to fit said space.

Anker's Nebula sub-brand is known for its projectors which come in a variety of sizes and price points. It has now announced a new model called the Nebula X1 which it claims is the world's first cinema-grade outdoor entertainment system.

The Nebula X1 arrives as the new flagship model in Nebula's line of projectors, sitting atop the Cosmos 4K SE (curr. available on Amazon for $1039.99). The RGB laser projector has a 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), a brightness level of up to 3,500 ANSI lumens, a 5,000:1 native contrast and can project up to a size of 200 inches from a variable distance of between 4 to 7 meters. It also has optical zoom, allowing for adjusting the image without the need to move the projector.

Anker says that the projector can automatically remember the room settings saved during an initial setup. Once placed in a saved room or space, it will automatically recognize the space and adjust its settings to fit that space. It also features a micro-gimbal that has a tilt angle of up to 25 degrees, allowing the projector to be set up on any surface.

Another feature of the Nebula X1 is its Eye-Guard function which protects a user's eyes from laser radiation when they stand in front of the projector. It also has a liquid cooling system, an industry-first, that helps improve heat dissipation by 15% and reduces the operating sound to 26 decibels.

The Nebula X1 has four integrated speakers (2x 15W and 2x 5W) but can be paired with two optional lossless Wi-Fi speakers for a 160W 4.1.2 surround system. When connected to the wireless speakers, the built-in speakers work as subwoofers, providing more bass. The projector also has Dolby Audio and Dolby Vision, and can be used just as a Bluetooth speaker. There are also optional microphones for a party mode.

The projector is powered by a quad-core processor with Cortex-A55 CPU cores and a Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. There's 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, and the ports include two HDMI 2.1 ports one of which has eARC, a USB-A port, a USB-C port, an optical audio port, and a DC input port.

Like previous Nebula projectors, the X1 runs Google TV and comes preloaded with streaming apps such as Netlfix, Hulu, and YouTube. There are touch controls on the projector as well as an included remote. It also has a carry handle.

The Nebula X1 is priced at €2,999 in Europe and will be available on May 7 while in the US it costs $2,999 and will be available on May 21. Those who pre-order between now and May 6 will be able to purchase it for €2,499. The two optional speakers will sell for €499.99 while the two microphones will cost an extra €99.99. There will also be a gimbal stand that's €149.99 and a €99.99 carrying case. Those in the US will be able to buy a bundle that includes the speakers, microphones, and carrying case for $3,298 instead of $3,998 if they sign up now.
