Xiaomi launches Redmi Projector 3 Lite at an affordable price

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Projector 3 Lite in China, which is now available to pre-order for CNY 699. That converts to about $96, making it stand as one of the most affordable projectors in Xiaomi's lineup. While it's a budget-friendly offering, the company claims that it's tuned for enhanced image clarity.

To be specific, Xiaomi highlights that the Redmi Projector 3 Lite is equipped with a custom-made sealed optical engine. Paired with the full-glass lens, it's said to offer a side projection angle of up to 20 degrees without significant reduction in the projection quality.

The company further notes that the Projector 3 Lite comes with an improved cooling system. Its heat dissipation system is said to be up to 2 dBA quieter than the predecessors, which isn't that big of a difference, but it's an improvement nonetheless.

Getting back to the projection quality of the Redmi Projector 3 Lite, Xiaomi claims that it has a brightness rating of 180 CVIA lumens, which should be more than good enough for dark or dimly lit rooms. It also has short-wave blue light filters, which gives it the SGS low blue light certification.

There's a customized ToF sensor, which Xiaomi has paired with an AI algorithm. This setup is said to offer hassle-free auto-correction and auto-focus. The new affordable projector also packs the Amlogic T950S SoC, which is paired with 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

Other highlights of the Redmi Projector 3 Lite include 1080p physical resolution, 1.2:1 projection ratio, dual-band WiFi, support for HyperOS Connect, and the ability to project up to a 100-inch screen. However, unlike the non-Lite version, it doesn't feature built-in speakers (Sony S100F 2.0 ch soundbar curr. $98 on Amazon). Xiaomi has yet to share details on the global launch and pricing.
