Xiaomi has launched the new Mijia Air Conditioner Pro 1.5HP in China. It is designed for areas measuring between 16 and 20 m² (~172 and 215 ft²) with an 830 m³ (~29,311 ft³) airflow rate. Thanks to its design, it can be mounted just 2 cm (~0.8 inches) away from the ceiling.
With 790 W cooling power, the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro 1.5HP is said to provide cooling in as little as 30 seconds. Likewise, 1,250 W heating power is said to allow it to start to warm a room in 60 seconds. As with other recent air conditioners from the brand, dual mmWave radar sensors allow it to direct wind towards or away from detected people in the room. Plus, it can intelligently sense when you leave the room and switch itself off to save energy.
A small integrated display shows the temperature and mode. This is a Xiaomi HyperOS Connect device with support for Xiao AI voice commands or remote controls via the Mijia app, where you can also trigger over-the-air updates. It can be linked to other smart devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem. According to the product listing, it can run relatively quietly, producing as little as 18 dB noise.
You can buy the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro 1.5HP in China for CNY 3,999 (~$549). As for a rollout in Europe, as the company has yet to officially launch any smart air conditioners here, it seems unlikely. However, Xiaomi does offer smart fans like the Smart Standing Fan 2 Pro (curr. €119 at Amazon.de).
