Aqara has launched the Voice Companion H1 in China. This device is designed to work with the Hub M3, which was launched globally in 2024. It allows you to control linked smart home products with voice commands.
Plus, with Aqara Copilot, you can ask the Voice Companion H1 for information like weather forecasts or the power consumption of a connected device. It is worth noting that the device does not have a built-in speaker, with responses given via the Aqara Hub M3 (curr. $109.99 at Amazon). A privacy benefit of this gadget is that it only wakes when it is picked up and has an automatic sleep mode. On top of this, the integrated motion sensor allows you to rotate, nudge or knock the device on a surface to trigger smart home automation.
The Voice Companion H1 can communicate over Bluetooth and Thread and is powered by a CR2450 battery, which should run for at least six months. As shown in the marketing pictures below, this is a small device; it measures 41 x 41 x 14.2 mm (~1.6 x 1.6 x 0.6 inches). This makes it easy to move around your home as needed. The Aqara Voice Companion H1 is now available in China for CNY 200 ($27). Whether or when this smart home device could launch in other markets, such as the US, is unclear.
