The Xiaomi Smart Ceiling Light D30 and D40 Ceiling Lights have been launched in Germany, and are expected to be released in other European countries. Revealed earlier this year, they are round smart lighting panels with lighting areas of 8 to 15 m² (~86 to 161 ft²) and 15 to 25 m² (~161 to 269 ft²), respectively.
Xiaomi’s Smart Ceiling Lights are designed to deliver soft lighting with reduced glare. They offer dimmable white lighting with color temperature adjustable between 2,700K and 5,700K, and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) rating of RA97. Plus, the company suggests that its ‘special lenses’ ensure uniform lighting.
The D30 delivers up to 1,700 lumens brightness, while the D40 is brighter with up to 3,000 lumens brightness. The smart lights can be remotely controlled via the Xiaomi Home app, and also support Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice commands. Both are 60 mm (~3.4 inches) deep, but the D30 measures 350 mm (~13.8 inches) across, and the D40 is larger at 450 mm (~17.7 inches) wide. It has an IP50 dustproof rating.
You can now buy the Xiaomi Smart Ceiling Light D30 and the Xiaomi Smart Ceiling Light D40 in Germany for €69.99 and €79.99, respectively. It is unclear when these smart lights will arrive in other European countries.
