Philips Hue has released version 5.40.0 of its app for iOS and Android users. It follows the version 5.39.0 update, which brought a new collection of “Spring Breeze” scenes to users of smart lights like the Play Light Bar (curr. $32 at Amazon). There are regular scenes like Crocus and Blossom and an all-day scene named The Colors of Nature.
The Philips Hue app version 5.40.0 release notes at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store state that it brings “various bug fixes and stability improvements”. Unfortunately, no further details are provided to indicate where customers may benefit from this update. We have also searched through the app and cannot find any new features or improvements.
As a reminder, customers are still eagerly awaiting the release of the Philips Hue AI assistant. A button which appeared to be linked to this tool was leaked in version 5.38.1. However, this functionality, which is expected to allow users to generate smart lighting scenes from voice or text prompts, has yet to be released. If you want to download the Philips Hue app version 5.40.0, you can do so via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
