iConnectHue app for Philips Hue gets improved switch editor in update

The iConnectHue app for Philips Hue smart lights has been updated. This iOS app for iPhone and iPad offers a range of additional controls for users of Philips Hue smart home products, including smart timers and switches, as well as dynamic lighting scenes.

Version 5.9 of the iConnectHue app brings an updated switch editor, with actions now grouped by type. There is also a range of new switch actions, like the ability to set a color or adjust the brightness of a single light. On top of this, users can now use the reset icon to reset the fade time, and the lock screen icon has returned after it was briefly decommissioned. There is also support for new lights and a range of bug fixes and stability improvements. There are also eight Easter-themed scenes, such as ‘Eggs nest’, ‘Pastel eggs’ and ‘Crocuses’, which will be available until the end of April.

The release notes for iConnectHue app version 5.9 also list several possible future features like new setup wizards for switch actions and coming/leaving actions. The company notes that if you experience any issues with widgets or shortcuts, restarting your device should resolve this. Plus, you can also currently get a 25% discount on the iConnectHue app; this deal is expected to run until the end of April.
