Govee has released the Square Ceiling light in countries like Spain, France and Germany. The 12-inch (30 cm) wide smart lighting panel offers dynamic white and colored lighting effects. It can be remotely controlled via the Govee Home app or with voice commands, and it supports the Matter protocol.

The Govee Square Ceiling Light has been launched in European countries, including Spain, France and Germany. This smart light was spotted in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) database in February 2025.

The Square Ceiling Light measures 12 inches (30 cm) and has an RGBIC LED light source, expected to run for up to 20,000 hours. This offers up to 2,400 lumens at 2,700K, enough to light a space measuring around 20 m² (~215 ft²) in size. In the Govee Home app, users can choose from over 16 million colors, select a color temperature between 2,700 K and 6,500 K or adjust the brightness.

There are over 70 dynamic lighting scenes to select from in the app, and you can also set up smart lighting schedules. Other remote control options include Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, and Matter compatibility means it can be linked with many other smart home products. The ceiling light is made with flame-retardant material and is said to be easy to install.

You can now buy the Govee Square Ceiling Light at Amazon in countries like Spain, France and Germany for €51.79, thanks to a 26% discount on the €69.99 RRP. It remains to be seen when this smart light could launch in other markets like the US or the UK. Also recently released by the company is the Govee Ceiling Light Pro.
