EcoFlow has announced the upcoming launch of the Wave 3 portable air conditioner. Like the previous generations of this device, it is designed for camping in tents or RVs, cabins or boats.
The EcoFlow Wave 3 is more powerful than its predecessor, with a 6,100 BTU cooling capacity, said to reduce the temperature by 15°F (~8°C) in 15 minutes. This also means that the cooling area is wider at 11 to 17 m² (~120 to 180 ft²). You can use the Wave 3 for heating as well, with a 6,800 BTU heating capacity marketed as raising the temperature by 17°F (~9°C) in 15 minutes. Features include automatic heating based on the temperature, dehumidifier mode, and sleep mode reducing the running noise to 44dB.
EcoFlow’s Wave 3 can run for up to eight hours with the 1,024Wh battery add-on. According to the brand, the LFP cells have an estimated 10-year lifetime. It can be recharged in multiple ways, with a combination of AC and solar providing a full recharge in 75 minutes. Alternatively, you can use the Alternator Charger accessory to charge the battery in under two hours while driving. Thanks to EcoFlow Oasis, you can remotely control the device via a smartphone app. Here, you can monitor the battery status, receive water drain notifications and switch between the various modes.
The EcoFlow Wave 3 Portable A/C will launch on April 25th with an RRP of $1,299, with the extra battery costing $899; a bundle of the two is priced at $2,198. However, early-bird prices, which will run until May 25th, allow customers to purchase the Wave 3 for $749 or the extra battery bundle for $1,299.
