EcoFlow has announced the Glacier Classic, a combination portable power bank and refrigerator that can recharge an iPhone more than a dozen times while keeping drinks and meals cold during outdoor trips.
The Glacier Classic builds upon EcoFlow's experience making portable power stations that utilize rechargeable lithium batteries that can be recharged anywhere in the world by using solar panels. Besides solar charging, the unit can recharge using a standard AC or USB-C power connection. An optional EcoFlow 500w or 800w alternator charger enables charging from 12V car power sockets.
The eco-friendly unit can provide up to 100 watts of power over USB-C connections from its internal 298 Wh battery, which can recharge an iPhone about a dozen times or a Macbook Air about five times.
Additionally, the Glacier Classic has the ability to keep drinks and food cold with its refrigerator. The unit comes in three sizes - 35, 45, and 55 liter capacities that can chill 58 to 90 cans of drinks. The smaller model can refrigerate items at 39 °F (3.9 °C) for up to 43 hours, and the other models up to 39 hours. The refrigeration compartment of the larger models can also be set to freeze foods, or be divided to freeze and refrigerate items.
All settings changes and 7-day temperature tracking can be done using the EcoFlow smartphone app. The app will also alert users when the temperature exceeds 41 °F (5 °C) for over 10 minutes.
The EcoFlow will begin pre-orders for the Glacier Classic on its website on April 18, followed by a full launch on April 25 there and the EcoFlow shop on Amazon. The 35L, 45L, and 55L models have an MSRP of $799, $899, and $1199 respectively, and early-bird prices are $699, $799, and $899 respectively from April 25 until May 25.
