The Retroid Pocket Classic became available to buy last month, with pre-orders scheduled to begin in mid-April. Now, GoRetroid has confirmed that orders have indeed begun to ship, however, those in the US who have purchased certain colors will have to make a change if they wish to receive their orders.
According to a statement posted on X by the official Retroid Pocket account, Chinese shipping companies will no longer accept shipments outbound for the US as from the 25th of April. This action will affect those who ordered the Retroid Pocket Classic in Teal, Kiwi, and Berry, as they are not scheduled to begin shipping until the 28th of April which is past the date shipments to the US will be stopped.
In order for the affected US customers to still get their hands on the Retroid Pocket Classic, GoRetroid has suggested that US buyers who ordered the aforementioned colors contact customer service to change their order to any of the other available colors. The statement contains an apology to the affected customers but also clarifies that it doesn't affect buyers in other countries as they are not impacted by the shipping restriction.
