After a lot of speculation, Nintendo has now confirmed that pre-orders for the Switch 2 will start from April 24 in the US and Canada. It was also suspected that the pricing for the console will increase due to the ongoing tariff war, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least for the console. The Switch 2 was announced on April 2 and at the time, the pre-order date was set at April 9.
Along with the April 24 pre-order date, Nintendo also shared that the pricing for the console and the bundle remains the same as originally announced and the base Switch 2 will cost $450 with the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle priced at $500. Similarly, in Canada, the Switch 2 will cost $630 with the bundle priced at $700.
However, prices for the accessories in the US will be adjusted due to market conditions and a list of updated prices has been shared. Pricing for the accessories in Canada has been finally shared as well.
New Switch 2 accessory pricing for the US:
- Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - $84.99 (was $79.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Camera - $54.99 (was $49.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set - $119.99 (was $109.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter - $34.99 (was $29.99)
- Joy-Con 2 Controller set - $94.99 (was $89.99)

- Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector - $39.99 (was $34.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case - $84.99 (was $79.99)
For context, the Nintendo Switch 2 was supposed to be available for pre-order in the US and Canada from April 9, but on April 4, the company announced that it is delaying the pre-orders to “assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions.” Then, on April 8, the same announcement was made for Canada pre-orders and no new date was given. Throughout these announcements, Nintendo maintained that the launch date of June 5 remains unchanged.
It was then speculated that pre-orders for Canada will start from April 23 with US pre-orders starting either April 21 or April 30. Because of the tariff uncertainty, it was also expected that the prices for the Switch 2 will increase when the pre-order date is officially announced.
