With so much attention on Switch 2 pre-order sales, there is hope for savings on the original console. Sure enough, Costco is offering a steep discount on a Nintendo Switch OLED Bundle. Select stores have lowered the cost of the handheld to $200. The asking price is well below any recent sale of the system, which retails for $350 without accessories. Buyers need to be Costco members to take advantage of the deal.
Unfortunately, not every Costco location has slashed the Switch OLED Bundle price. However, buyers can use the retailer's mobile app to see if nearby stores have the console in stock. The deal is fairly widespread across the U.S., based on reports on various forums. In some cases, the sale price might not appear until customers are at a register.
Buyers also can't order Nintendo's console on Costco's website. Still, the site does provide some information about the bundle. The package includes a 256GB microSD card, PowerA case, screen protector, and a one-year Nintendo Switch Online membership. Gamers have encountered different configurations at certain locations, including one bundle with Mario Kart Deluxe 8.
One of the main advantages of the Switch OLED Bundle over the standard handheld packages is its larger 7-inch screen. Introduced in 2021, the display still holds up well with vivid colors and deep blacks. It's 720p resolution trails the larger 1080p screen of the Switch 2, but Nintendo's upcoming console employs LCD technology. The Switch OLED also offers more storage and a dock with a LAN port, which the 2017 console lacks.
A Switch sale this dramatic on hardware is exceedingly rare. When upgrading, most current-gen titles will work on the Switch 2. Even with the Costco membership requirement, the deal is unlikely to last long.
