Aokzoe has finally expanded its gaming handheld roster with the A1X after posting months of teasers across social media. Ultimately, niche companies like Ayaneo, GPD and OneXPlayer have beaten Aokzoe to the punch of releasing an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370-powered gaming handheld. However, few have combined the feature set that the A1X provides.
For example, Aokzoe compliments AMD's Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5-based APU with a 72.7 Wh battery that supports 100 W charging. Based on early reviews of the similarly equipped GPD Win 4 2025, the Aokzoe A1X should easily surpass the ROG Ally X and Legion Go (curr. $699 on Amazon) when it comes to battery life.
In part, this will be helped by the inclusion of a 1080p IPS display that can dynamically adjust its 120 Hz refresh rate using VRR technology. Incidentally, this 8-inch native landscape panel supports 10-point multi-touch, a 1,200:1 contrast ratio and peaks at 500 nits while delivering 100% sRGB colour space coverage.
Moreover, the Aokzoe A1X is available with up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 7,500 MT/s and an M.2 2280 SSD. Aokzoe reports that capacitive joysticks are onboard, as is a 3-axis gyroscope. On top of that, the A1X has USB 4 and OCuLink connectivity at its disposal, plus a Micro SD 4.0 card slot rated for up to 300 MB/s and a USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 port running at 10 Gbps.
The Aokzoe A1X starts at $799 with a Ryzen 7 8840U APU, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. By contrast, Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 SKUs start at $1,059 with the same memory configuration. Meanwhile, Aokzoe charges $1,299 for the A1X's sole 64 GB of RAM SKU. Please note that these prices will rise on April 18, the full changes of which can be found in the top image below.
