MagicX has already released a gaming handheld this year. To recap, the Mini Zero 28 arrived in late January sporting the same Allwinner A133P chipset as the TrimUI Brick and Smart Pro (curr. $91.99 on Amazon).
Like its contemporaries, MagicX will not be settling into a one-device-a-year release strategy. Instead, it intends to launch multiple other gaming handhelds this year. For example, it has already showcased the Zero 40 with a display tall enough to emulate the top and bottom displays of Nintendo DS family games simultaneously.
On top of that, MagicX has teased that it has been developing a dual-screen device that will launch during the second half of the year. Unfortunately, no other details about this device have been revealed yet. By contrast, more is known about two clamshell gaming handhelds.
Reportedly, devices called the One Flip and Two Flip will debut in June and September, respectively. MagicX adds that the latter will feature 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128 GB of eMMC flash storage and a modem that provides Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Moreover, the MagicX Two Flip is said to contain a chipset with performance between the Dimensity 900 and Dimensity 1100.
Consequently, the Two Flip should be closer in performance to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 than other popular clamshell gaming handhelds like the Anbernic RG35XX SP. In summary, MagicX appears to have earmarked the following devices for release later this year:
- MagicX Zero 40
- Mystery Dual-screen gaming handheld
- MagicX One Flip
- MagicX Two Flip
