Ayaneo has been busying itself with plenty of gaming handheld releases lately. For instance, it wrapped up its Ayaneo 3 crowdfunding campaign earlier this week. Nonetheless, it presented the Pocket S2 less than a fortnight ago to coincide with Qualcomm's Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 launch event.
Ayaneo has also been continuing to tease the Pocket Ace, albeit without revealing what the device actually looks like. While it still remains to be seen when the Pocket Ace will be available, Ayaneo has now showcased the device's looks at least.
For retro gaming handheld fans, the Pocket Ace may evoke the Retroid Pocket 2S with its squared design, button placement and display size. The inclusion of a 4.5-inch display will draw more comparisons with the RG405M (curr. $169.99 on Amazon), too. However, the Pocket Ace will be substantially more powerful than those two devices thanks to a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset.
According to Ayaneo, the Pocket Ace's display resolves at 1,620 x 1,080 pixels in a 3:2 aspect ratio. The company has also included a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 40 W fast charging and a 0916B ultra-wideband linear motor for what it describes as an 'immersive haptics' experience. On top of that, the Pocket Ace leverages Hall effect joysticks just like many of Ayaneo's other gaming handhelds. Ayaneo will eventually bring the Pocket Ace to Indiegogo; please see the associated Indiegogo pre-launch page for more details.
