Anbernic RG405M launches as new retro gaming handheld for less than US$200
Anbernic has started selling the RG405M, which it debuted less than a week ago. To recap, the Anbernic RG405M has a 4-inch IPS display that outputs at 640 x 480 pixels. Additionally, the gaming handheld has a Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of eMMC flash storage, plus a microSD card reader for storing more games.
Moreover, the Anbernic RG405M has a 4,500 mAh battery, hall effect joysticks and a six-axis gyroscope. Furthermore, Anbernic pre-installs its latest gaming handheld with Android 12, but there is no promise of major OS updates like Android 13 or Android 14. For reference, the Anbernic RG405M weighs 163 x 76 x 15.9 mm and weighs 260 g, in part because of its CNC aluminium housing.
Currently, the Anbernic RG405M is orderable from the company's website for US$167.99. Please note that the company is offering a US$10 discount on the device but only today, after which the gaming handheld will rise to US$177.99. Anbernic sells the RG405M in black and grey colourways, although it looks more like mint than a conventional grey colourway. The Anbernic RG405M is also orderable with 128 GB and 256 GB microSD cards for US$182.99 and US$197.99, respectively.
