Updated | Xbox Series X Diablo IV Edition tipped to launch on June 6
UPDATE: Microsoft has officially announced the bundle via a press release. It includes a copy of Diablo IV and is now up for pre-order on the company's website
Now that the Diablo IV early access and open betas are done, gamers have to wait until June to dive back into the world of Sanctuary. Blizzard's plans to celebrate the launch are unknown at this point, but its soon-to-be parent company Microsoft has something exciting up its sleeve.
Twitter leaker @bilibili_kun states there is an Xbox Series X Diablo IV Edition in the works. It will be launched alongside the game on June 6, costing US$559.99. Unfortunately, it isn't specified if the console will come with a free copy of Diablo IV.
Microsoft should ideally include at least a base version of Diablo IV, if not the Ultimate Edition, and not go down Nintendo's path of forcing players to buy a US$70 game on top of the Zelda-themed Switch OLED, which, at this point, is last-gen hardware.
More information about the Xbox Series X Diablo IV Edition should ideally emerge in the coming weeks. Among other things, one can expect some demon-themed controllers and artwork on the body like what we saw on the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite Edition.
