New MSI G253PF gaming monitor debuts with monster 380 Hz refresh rate
MSI has presented the G253PF, a 24.5-inch gaming monitor with an impressive peak refresh rate. According to the company, the G253PF relies on a 'Rapid IPS' panel that delivers 1 ms GtG response times and is NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible to minimise image tearing. Additionally, the monitor outputs at 1080p with 400 nits peak brightness (HDR) or 320 nits SDR and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified.
Arguably, one of the monitor's greatest features is its refresh rate, which can reach 380 Hz when overclocked. However, the G253PF is only capable of achieving this over its sole DisplayPort 1.4a port. In comparison, the monitor's twin HDMI 2.0b ports can deliver a peak 240 Hz refresh rate or 120 Hz in console mode.
Moreover, the G253PF offers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 83% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and an anti-glare treatment to keep glare to a minimum. Furthermore, MSI has included a height and tilt adjustable stand, a 3.5 mm jack and no USB ports. MSI has not confirmed pricing or availability yet, but more details can be found on its website.
