Eufy has launched the Power over Ethernet (PoE) NVR Security System S4 Max in the US. The Anker sub-brand describes this product as providing a ‘Private Local AI Agent’, which can detect and respond to intruders on your property.
The eufy NVR Security System S4 Max kit includes four Tri-Cam Bullet/PTZ cameras, with support for live cross-camera tracking. The upper Bullet cam has a 4K resolution, and the PTZ camera has a 2.5K resolution, panning up to 360° and tilting up to 70° to track intruders. AI Image Signal Processing (AI-ISP) provides color night vision, and the cameras have 5x digital and 3x optical zoom for clear images of people or objects up to 66 ft (~20 m) away.
Also included is the Network Video Recorder (NVR) with 2 TB onboard storage, expandable up to 16 TB. It supports up to 8 channels as standard, though this can be expanded up to 16 channels. The ProSecure System is said to be able to detect someone shining a flashlight near your vehicle or attempting entry. It could also detect someone stealing a parcel from your porch, recognising clothing and postural hints that this is a burglar and not a courier. Responses include automatic alerts sent to the police, a siren and lighting.
Prospective customers are currently invited to make a pre-order deposit of $9.90, locking in a discounted price of $1,299 when the eufy PoE NVR Security System S4 Max is released. The website suggests that this is a 15% discount, indicating an RRP of around $1,529. The home security kit is expected to launch this July.
The company is also running a Pioneer Program, with successful applicants asked to pay $100 for access to eufy EdgeAgent Services and a bundle of devices, with a combined worth of $880; it is worth noting that members of the program agree to share their data and insights with the brand. Whether or when the eufy PoE NVR Security System S4 Max could launch in other countries is unclear.
