Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Water Purifier S1 in China. Available in two variants, 1000G and 1600G, this smart home device is designed to provide filtered water on tap in your kitchen.
The Mijia Water Purifier S1 is fitted with an RO filter, which should last for up to five years. Combined with the PPC filter, it removes 99.9% of lead, 99.8% of cadmium and 100% of E.Coli present in the water. Compared to older similar models, this new version upgrades to Zero Stale Water 3.0, ensuring that any unused water is fresh and drinkable when you next use the tap. The difference between these two models is the throughput, with the 1000G filling a glass in 3.2 seconds and the 1600G running faster, producing the same volume of water in 2 seconds. They both have a 4,000 L capacity, with the purifying unit measuring 163 x 445 x 379 mm (~6.4 x 17.5 x 14.9 inches).
Each Mijia Water Purifier comes with a smart touch faucet, with an integrated digital display showing information like the TDS value. Thanks to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and HyperOS, the device can be remotely controlled in the accompanying Mi Home app. Here, you can remotely monitor the water quality, track consumption, check the filter life and adjust the default cup size.
The Xiaomi Mijia Water Purifier S1 1000G and 1600G are now available in China CNY 1,599 and CNY 2,399 (~$220 and $330), respectively. It seems unlikely that Xiaomi will launch these products in other markets like Europe.
