Xiaomi has revealed the new Robot Vacuum S40C, a model for markets worldwide. This new smart home device recently appeared on the brand’s global website, suggesting that it could launch in a range of countries in the coming weeks.
The Robot Vacuum S40C appears to be a cheaper model, offering just 5,000 Pa suction power. Users can choose from four modes, including silent and turbo options. There is also a mopping function with three water output levels. It uses LDS laser navigation to find the most efficient route around your home, and multiple onboard sensors help prevent it from getting stuck. There is an onboard 520 ml dustbin, a 260 ml water tank, and a 2,400 mAh battery which is automatically charged when the robot returns to its dock.
You can remotely control the robot via the Xiaomi Home app, where you can also customize stored maps, marking no-go zones and carpeted areas, and set up a cleaning schedule. Another way to start or stop the device is with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. The robot measures 340 x 340 x 97 mm (~13.4 x 13.4 x 3.8 inches) and the accompanying dock measures 130 x 121 x 95 mm (~5.1 x 4.8 x 3.7 inches).
It remains to be seen when and where the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C will launch and how much it will cost. As an indication, similar models like the Xiaomi S12 Robot Vacuum retail in Europe for €299.99 (curr. €194 at Amazon.de).
