Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop M40 S in China. It is a relatively powerful model, and it is said to offer up to 23,000 Pa suction power. There are dual brushes to enable the robot to pick up debris, with the extending arm helping it to reach the edge of the room or into corners. Plus, a serrated edge around the brush can cut hair to remove tangles.
For mopping, the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop M40 S has dual rotating mop heads with three water levels to choose from. The mop heads can also extend to reach the edge of the room and can automatically lift out of the way when a carpet is detected. Another notable feature of this new robot vacuum is the intelligent retracting dToF radar sensor. This sensor is used to help the device to navigate your home. However, it can be lowered to allow the robot to clean under lower-lying objects of furniture; when the radar tower is down, the device is 88 mm (~3.5 inches) tall.
According to Xiaomi, the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop M40 S can run for up to 130 minutes between charges. At the docking station, the mops are washed with hot water, measuring up to 80°C (~176°F) and subsequently dried with 45°C (~113°F) warm air. On top of this, the tray is said to be self-cleaning, a new feature for this dock. As with other models from the brand, you can remotely control this smart home product with the Xiaomi app or Xiao AI voice commands.
The Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop M40 S is now available in China. The version with a docking station with built-in water tanks retails for CNY 3,999 (~$553), while the variant designed to be connected to your home’s plumbing is priced at CNY 4,999 (~$691). Whether or when a version of this robot vacuum could launch in other markets like Europe is unclear. Here, you can already buy older models like the Robot Vacuum X20 Pro (curr. €478.89 at Amazon.de).
