SwitchBot is now accepting pre-orders for the Smart Lock Ultra. This new smart home product was unveiled at CES 2025 alongside other devices like the SwitchBot Video Doorbell. It appears to share many features with the older SwitchBot Lock Pro but has a new design and is said to provide faster unlocking.
At Amazon in European countries like the UK, the Netherlands and Germany, you can now pre-order the SwitchBot Lock Ultra for £249.99/€249.99. These product listings state that the product will be officially released on May 22nd, meaning customers can expect to receive their orders in late May.
The new SwitchBot Lock Ultra is designed to fit over an existing lock, allowing you to unlock your door in one of 15 ways. These include voice commands, Apple Watch and NFC. Plus, when used with the accompanying Keypad Touch accessory, you can use fingerprint recognition, said to have 98% accuracy, or a passcode. It is compatible with Matter-enabled SwitchBot Hub and powered by lithium-ion batteries, allowing it to run for up to nine months. The lock measures 6.3 x 6.7 x 12.2 cm (~2.5 x 2.6 x 4.8 inches), making it slightly smaller than the Lock Pro, and has an aluminum casing.
The full specification for the SwitchBot Lock Ultra is expected to be unveiled on May 22nd. At the time of writing, it is unclear when the SwitchBot Lock Ultra could launch in the US or how much it will cost in this market.
