The Xming Q5 Neo Plus projector has been launched in China. As its name suggests, the model builds on the older Q5 Neo, which was released in late 2024. The two versions share many similarities.
Like the earlier projector, the Q5 Neo Plus has an integrated stand. However, the design has been altered so that the stand doubles as a carrying handle, though the maximum rotation angle is now capped at 180°. The newer model has the same 1080p native resolution with 4K decoding, a 2,600:1 contrast ratio and a recommended image size of between 40 and 150 inches (~102 and 381 cm). Also included are the autofocus, auto keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance tools to help you perfect the image.
The main difference is with the light source. The new PhotoX 2.0 sealed optical light engine is said to provide brighter and clearer images despite having a lower peak brightness level of 240 CVIA lumens; the Q5 Neo delivers up to 300 CVIA lumens. Details on the operating system have yet to be revealed, though it likely uses a version of Android. It has HyperOS Connect for Xiaomi smart home ecosystem integration, with remote controls via the Mijia app and Xiao AI voice commands. Plus, we know that there is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
The model’s color scheme is described as forest green and cloud white. Xming’s Q5 Neo Plus projector retails in China for CNY 999 (~$137), the same price as its predecessor. It is unclear whether or when this product could launch in other markets like the US, where models like the Formovie Xming Episode One are currently available for $199 at Amazon.
