The Xming Q5 Neo projector has arrived in China. This is a cheaper model with a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 px) resolution. According to Xming, it can throw images between 40 and 150 inches (~102 and 381 cm) wide. For an 80-inch (~203 cm) image, the throw ratio is 1.22:1.
The Q5 Neo has an LED light source that is said to deliver up to 300 CVIA lumens brightness; how this measurement translates to globally recognised standards like ISO or ANSI lumens is unclear. The projector supports 4K content and has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 2,600:1 contrast ratio. You can quickly perfect the image with autofocus, automatic keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance tools. The model runs on Android 9.0 with an iQiyi interface, and you can screencast with Miracast or Apple AirPlay. There are Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity options, or you can physically connect devices via HDMI 2.0 and USB 2.0 ports. It is worth noting that the device does not appear to have built-in speakers.
The compact device measures 161.5 x 113 x 186 mm (~inches) and sits on a metal gimbal stand that can rotate 360° vertically. Xming is selling the Q5 Neo projector in China for the discounted price of CNY 699 (~$97); the product is listed with an RRP of CNY 999 (~$139). It is unclear whether the company will bring a similar model to other markets under its international Formovie brand. In the US, you can already buy projectors like the Formovie Xming Page One (curr. $329 at Amazon).
