The Ubhome M10 robot lawn mower will shortly begin crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The Hong Kong-based company has already revealed many details about its smart home product. The mower does not require a perimeter wire thanks to RTK and AI vision navigation technology, and it is said to be blind spot-free when it comes to obstacle detection.
Ubhome advertises the model as covering an area of up to 138,000 m² (~34 acres), which it suggests is equivalent to ten football fields. No time frame is provided for this statistic. However, it also states that the robot will mow 1,000m² (~0.25 acres) daily, which seems like a more realistic estimate. The mower’s Glide Plate blade is said to be able to handle thick grass, and the robot can climb slopes up to 55% (28.8°). You can use the app to control the mower remotely, managing various mapping zones and adjusting settings like cutting height between 30 and 60 mm (~1.18 and 2.36 inches). The app can also be used to map your lawn when setting up the device.
The pledge levels for the Ubhome M10 robotic mower have yet to be revealed, though the company indicates that backers can save up to 45% off the RRP. According to the Kickstarter page, Ubhome is aiming to ship the device in early January. It is worth noting that this is the company’s first Kickstarter campaign, and, as with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that backers will receive the product. You could consider alternative models like the Mammotion YUKA 1500 Robot Lawn Mower, currently $1,599 at Amazon.
