The Sharp XP-A201U-B projector for business use has arrived in the US. The WUXGA model has a laser light source that is said to deliver up to 20,000 lumens brightness. Plus, the projector offers a range of ports, including two HDMI, and integrated applications like Crestron Roomview.

Sharp has unveiled the XP-A201U-B projector in the US. This model is from the Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) division and designed for business uses like in meeting rooms or classrooms.

The XP-A201U-B is billed as “4K Ready” with a native WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 px) resolution. It has a laser light source delivering up to 20,000 lumens typical brightness (21,000 lumens peak); it is unclear whether these are standardized measurements like ISO or ANSI lumens. The LCD projector is said to cover 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

The A201U is compatible with various motorized lenses, and the picture can be perfected with a manual keystone correction tool. Ports include two HDMI 2.0, HDBaseT and audio out, and there is support for AMX Beacon, Crestron Roomview, Extron XTP and PJ link software. It has been reported that the Sharp XP-A201U-B projector will be priced at $31,999. If you are looking for a home theater solution, you could consider the Hisense PX3-Pro Laser Cinema, currently $3,147.97 at Amazon.
