New Ricoh UHL3660 UST laser projector with up to 6,500 lumens brightness arrives
PFU America has announced the Ricoh PJ UHL3660 ultra short throw laser projector for the US. The 4K model is designed for business use in a medium or large conference room, a museum or an entertainment venue.
The UHL3660 can throw images between 85 and 160 inches (~216 and 406 cm) wide. Thanks to the ultra short throw ratio of 0.24, an 85-inch image can be projected onto a surface at a distance of 1 cm (~0.4 inches). The projector uses 4-way pixel shift technology to deliver images with a 4K UHD resolution, supporting HDR content. The laser light source is said to produce up to 6,500 lumens brightness, though a standardized measurement such as ISO or ANSI lumens has yet to be provided. Plus, the company’s OptiBright feature aims to reduce power consumption and boost the life time of the light source to up to 40,000 hours.
You can use keystone correction and various image modes to quickly adjust the image and choose between 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios. Devices can be connected via ports like HDMI 2.0, USB-A and HDBaseT, or you can wirelessly share content to the projector via Miracast. PFU America said that the Ricoh PJ UHL3660 ultra short throw laser projector would be available through third-party retailers, though it did not reveal the price of its new model.
