Sharp's super-bright P601Q and P721Q 4K laser projectors with up to 7200 ANSI lumens now available for purchase
Sharp introduced two new high-end projectors earlier in June - the P601Q and P721Q, and they both target large professional environments like corporate boardrooms, museums, and higher education spaces. At the time of announcement, detailed spec sheets weren't available, but all that info is accessible now. Both models feature 4K UHD resolution and laser technology. Now, one of these projectors (the P601Q) is available for purchase at B&H Photo Video as of writing, with the P721Q currently in back-order status, meaning it should be purchasable as well when it comes back into stock.
The Sharp P601Q is designed for users needing clear visuals in bright environments. With 6000 ANSI lumens brightness, the P601Q should give you vibrant images without dimming any lights. It supports 4K UHD (3840x2160) resolution for sharp and detailed visuals. A dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 should boost picture quality up with deeper blacks and brighter whites.
The P721Q, on the other hand, is a step above, offering 7200 ANSI lumens of brightness for even brighter environments. Like the P601Q, it supports 4K UHD resolution, but its higher output makes it ideal for larger venues where ambient light may be more intense. Both models include DLP projection technology and laser-phosphor light sources that add up to 20,000 hours of life, which directly translates to minimal maintenance and consistent performance.
Both projectors are equipped with motorized lens shift (horizontal and vertical) and autofocus for easy installation and image alignment. They support projection sizes from 60 to 300 inches across distances of 1.6 to 13.4 meters, catering to different room sizes. Their 360° roll-free installation design further adds flexibility, as in, users can project from multiple angles.
The built-in 20W audio should be sufficient for mid-sized rooms, while inputs like HDBaseT, HDMI, RJ-45, and USB-A ports provide extensive connectivity options. Sharp’s ECO Mode reduces power consumption and noise, with the P601Q operating at 34 dB (Eco) and the P721Q at a similar range.
Durability is another strong suit, with both models featuring IP5X dust-resistant design and Crestron RoomView compatibility for remote management. The P721Q, priced at $6,499, targets large venues, while the P601Q at $5,199 is a more cost-effective solution for smaller professional spaces. Both come with a three-year warranty for additional peace of mind.
